HEARTBEAT!!!!!!!!!

My appointment was originally at 4:45 p.m. today. At 9:45 a.m., just as I was about to exit the freeway to go to work, I received a phone call from a blocked number. I just KNEW it was my doctor’s office so I fumbled desperately for my headpiece and picked up. It turned out they wanted to see me right THEN so I switched gears and headed for the Westside. After a frantic coordination with my husband, we both made it there.

The ultrasound was completely thrilling – we both saw the heartbeat flickering right away, along with a gestational sac and a yolk sac! My doctor refuses to give me a photo of the ultrasound until 8 weeks because he’s superstitious – that’s fine, I need all the luck and help I can get.

Today is my ultrasound?

My ultrasound is scheduled for today? And so as to torture myself, I decided to start reading about women who had miscarriages late in their pregnancy.

I am determined to come back today with good news.

Boooo!!!!

My ultrasound was postponed until tomorrow because my doctor had to deliver some stupid baby! Booooooooo!!!

Almost afraid to post… Good news!!!

I went in for my ultrasound today and everything went well! I was able to see a sac and my doctor saw the beginnings of a faint heartbeat.

We’re super thrilled and can’t wait for our next appointment on Wednesday!

Surprise Ultrasound

My doctor gave me a thumbs up when I saw him today. It was actually quite a thrilling moment for me. He’s the only one that really knows how much heartache we’ve been through and his thumbs up was a kind of affirmation to me that we were successful.

I was 30 minutes early to my appointment and overheard him over the counter tell the nurse I was getting an ultrasound. Of course, we only saw a nice thick lining and a corpus luteum.

My next appointment is next Friday and hopefully we’ll be able to see the sac then!
